    Hey guys!

I`ve been having this problem ever since I got this laptop (2 years; I got it refurbished so there was no warranty...) So far I ignored it but now it`s getting increasingly annoying.
Occasionally, the laptop freezes; screen goes grey and starts to flicker. The audio sometimes continues, while other times it freezes as well. This thing happens 90% of the time when I`m watching Youtube videos but it also happened during games and while watching movies.
    What I`ve tried so far:
    - updated video drivers
    - got latest bios
    - reinstalled windows
    - downclocked CPU

Nothing worked. :( I`ve been monitoring temperature as well, but there was nothing significant. CPU is about 60/65 °C degrees while gaming. GPUs are around 65-70 °C.
    Any suggestions?

P.S. I am also considering on upgrading to Crossfire 5870Ms in the near future so that might also solve this issue...

I'm pretty sure any other video card will solve this issue, since it sounds like defective ram to me. Though I'm no expert.

Hello, Moonsugar, please follow these steps and your issues will be gone:

Access BIOS menu by repeatedly pressing the F2 key at POST
Navigate to Advanced > Graphic Settings
And here, disable PCIe Gen2 (You may also disable all four options, Integrated etc..)
Reboot and you should be fine.

Hello all! bought my m17x R1 with GTX260M about 3 years ago. I HAD the same problem as this gentlemen listed and disabled PCIE Gen 2. No longer getting flickering screens or a black boot screen but now my SLI wont enable and I can't play my games correctly. Graphics are crap, lag like crazy. Also my SLI isn't even showing up. Any help is appreciated or if you need more info please ask and help.
