For the last two week's i've been troubleshooting a couple problems with my m17x which i thought where RAM related, but not anymore...

    Here are the symptoms:

    1. Constant blue screens of death or lockups no matter what i was doing - on the web, watching a video, using itunes, writing a document, gaming or my personal favorite while the computer was idle.

    2. The screen goes black for a few seconds and then i get the following message:
This happens A LOT!!! Around 5-10 times per hour when its really bad, other times 5-10 times a day...

At first i thought my windows installation was just dying so i formatted and installed win 7 from scratch. Since that didnt help i tohugh It might to be bad ram. I have 2 x 4gb sticks so i took one of them out to see if it became stable again. I experienced the same issues no matter what ram stick i left inside. I doubt both went bad at the same time so i now think one of the video cards (i have the 2 x nvidia 260's) is to blame. I've tried several different video drivers but the problems are still there...

Im not a hardware genius but this is not software related... I have a m11x running the exact same things and it is nice and stable.

What are your thoughts? My warranty ran out so sadly that is not an option.

    Follow these steps:

    -Restart
    -Press F2 to access BIOS
    -Switch to the Advanced tab
-Scroll down to Graphic Settings and press Enter
-Here disable everything (or just PCIe Gen2 if you use the integrated from time to time)

Save and exit, tada no more video driver failures or BSODs ;)

Don't worry if the drivers were properly installed there's no way you will get any BSODs or lock-ups related to video drivers.

There should be a Sticky somewhere about this issue. In my opinion is one of the most recurrent topic.
