so i have a an m17x r1, i have read all the comments posted here and a couple people kinda touched up on it.
i run 2x 280 gtx cards and a 9400 card. i got the driver installed and in my Device Manager it shows all three cards, although in my nvidia CP there is only disable SLI and Maximize 3D when on ether setting gmes still only run on the 9400 card causing lag, obviously...my hybrid in bios is enabled but everything else diabled, if i dsable hybrd only my 9400 shows. how can i make my 2x 280s run on games? the video j95 posted says games should recognize the 9400 for desktop and the other two for games, but so far as i am aware of this is not happening.

Please and thank you for the help and nfo so far :).

Hey, I updated my video cards recently (I have the same laptop as yours).
After you update go to bios and the disable both hybrid and integrated options. As of 3xx drivers nVidia no longer supports hybrid.. so you'll have to manage without it. Disable integrated card all your games will run in GTX 280 SLi.
Less battery, but you won't probably be needing it more than video performance, so..

    Good luck!

second ... Just reinstalled windows, trying to get the most current drivers. For win7 / 64, laptopvideo2go only has up to 305 I think. Where can I get the newest drivers / modded inf file for the R1?

    Thanks!

    Sooo...

    Anyone using later drivers?

I have an R1 with dual GTX260 still on Win 7 and looking to update to a newer driver

Should I stick to 310.90 as per above?

From what I am reading the main problem still with the recent drivers is SLi related - flickering/flashing in games. Dedicating one card to PhysX stops it.

    See here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/...y-driver-feedback-thread-released-1-7-14-/15/

A lot of rubbish to trawl through though.

I wouldn't expect any later drivers are going to give you any performance boost on older cards, best to just find a good stable driver and stick with it IMO.

I have a m17x with dual 280m's and I have been trying to get drivers to take on win8 64.

I have tried the 310.33 with the modified file and it always comes up failed. I did the drivers signature thing with no luck.

I tried using the 332.21 with a modified file from laptopvideo with same response.
