    Hello.

Recently I've been quite worried about my M17x R1 overheating. I downloaded and installed a program called HWMonitor in order to view my GPU temperatures. In my system I have a single 260m GTX and a 9400m GT running in Hybrid Graphics mode. The thing is, I can only read temperatures of the 9400m GT card. The card I need to be reading temps of is the 260m GTX, my main card. I suppose I'm not safe off just reading the temps of the 9400m GT? I've tried disabling the Hybrid Graphics mode in BIOS, but the 260m GTX card still won't give up any temps. I don't know if this is a driver related issue, but maybe. Anyone who can help me? Thanks.

Nevermind, downloaded GPU-Z and the temps started showing. It was as I feared though, after 2hours of Dead Island gameplay my 260m GTX reached temps of over 90C. At one point the temperature even reached 102C. So what would you recommend I do? Obviously gotta try and clean out my fans, removing dust. Should I also consider putting on some new thermal paste? I've never even opened my Alienware before so this would be a challange.

Here is what you can try. Repasting is always a good way to go before contacting support. If you continue to have this trouble you can send us an e-mail to [email protected] with your tag and phone number and we'll get back to you as soon as possible for the needed replacement.

I have no warranty left though, is that going to be an issue?
