Had my M17X R1 for about a year and a half now and a couple weeks ago needed to do a wipe and reinstall of OS and programs. In doing so, I updated the BIOS to A07 and for the past two weeks I get daily freezes and lock-ups. I know others have had these issues. It never happened before the wiping and the only thing that has changed was the BIOS upgrade to A07.

    - M17x - Intel Core 1 Duo - [email protected] ghz
    - Nvidia GeForce GTX 280M - 266.58 (have not tried 275.33 6-1-11 WHQL yet but did try the version before that with no luck)
    - Win 7 64 bit

Flashing a different version of BIOS revision will bring your settings to a default state so access the BIOS menu (press F2 repeatedly after the alien head at start up) > Advanced > Graphic Options and disable PCIe Gen2.
Now you should not suffer from any video drivers related lockups anymore ;)

Thanks katalin, I'll give it a try and see if that does it. Appreciate it!
