M17x R1 Low CPU Win 7 Perf Index

Hi

Recently reinstall Win 7 64bit to clean things up as my system was running a tad slow and since the rebuild my performance seems off and the Windwos performance index is showing:

CPU 2.1
Mem 4.3
2D 2.9
3D 6.3
HDD 7.2

So all the rest seems fine, am running a Q9000 and have OC'd it as a test to 1200 FSB, CPU-Z shows 1800 and a multiplier of 6 when idle and when running the performance index it does jump to 7.5 multiplier andthe appropriate CPU speed but the performance index value is still low. Given the laptop seems sluggish I'm sure there is something up. Have installed the A07 bios and latest verde drivers and the DPC latency is ok with the odd yellow spike. Everything else seems ok so I'm at a loss.

Any thoughts appreciated.

PS: Actually just did a PowerISO extraction of a large ISO and the CPU stayed at 6x and 1800 MHz which doesn't seem right either

 

Have you checked CPU temperature? Also, are all 4 CPU cores listed in Device Manager?

Ok having checked the CPU cores are all listed etc. I started looking into Stealth mode and it would appear, according to Alien Fusion that this has become enabled. I'm busy trying to get the damn thing to disable because it's not working when I hit the button regardless of how long I hold my finger over it. Currently following advice I saw on another thread about removing the battery etc. so far no joy, there really needs to be an app that lets you disable stealth!

Well although I feel stupid I have to thank DenverESullivan (+rep for sure) for his comment on another thread about the battery out and reset info as once I'd done that the stealth button worked again and stealth went off and I'm back to 6.9 for CPU and RAM and 7.2 for the rest...thank god and cheers for all replies.
