I have an Alienware laptop, specs listed below. I know that computers slow down over time, but this is just ridiculous. I was recently playing Starcraft 2 with a friend online, we were both using my internet connection and playing in the same game. He was pulling 70ish frames per second, on Medium settings. I, on low, was pulling a lowly 4 frames. And less at points.

    My laptop has:
    Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel Core 2 Q9000 Quad Core @2.00GHz per core
Dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M in SLi (2GB Total)
    8GB 1333MHz RAM
Dual 500GB 7,200 RPM HDD in RAID 0

His laptop has an i5, dual core, 6GB RAM, and an Nvidia 555m (1.5GB)
My laptop should be walking all over his, in Windows Rating, I score a 7.0 or higher in ALL categories but HDD, he scores 4.5-6.0 in all categories. I am at least an entire point higher in all categories. Is there something I am missing? I have SLi enabled, and even disabled my hybrid graphics via BIOS for the small boost that gives. I have virus protection, so I know I am free in that area and I have the laptop on a very high performance cooler (it gets no higher than 110F, 43C)

Lastly, when we checked our CPU loads, his was registering 0% loading with Starcraft 2 running. As I type this, without any other programs up, I am holding at 25% load.

    Thanks to any contributors.

Let's try a fresh install , my friend . If you are using the OEM Windows, I say that it's full of bloatware , which give you nothing but slowing the whole system down . Try a fresh windows 7 setup, with the Chipset Driver installed first. VGA Driver second , Command Center last, and everything else in the middle . We'll see it from there . Don't forget to disable the PCI Ex Gen 2 in the bios if you plan to use the VGA Driver downloaded from Nvidia . Good Luck

Check in bios you have Hybrid SLI enabled. Otherwise you will be probably running your games with the 9400M (the integrated). There is in my opinion an issue, that is when you power on the laptop in battery mode, then the integrated cards are automatically disabled. That is OK, but then you have to enable the discrete cards on BIOS manually. Otherwise the integrated card will be running alone.

Thanks guys I'll try the fresh install and see how things go. Also, I know for a fact that I have SLI enabled and that I am NOT on the integrated 9400, as with that SC2 won't even run at all haha, it is 1FPS on low setting while in idle.
