While I mainly lurk on the board for tips/hotfixes/etc., this is my first post on a problem that I wasn't able to fix by just reading the board. What this has taught me is that I should read the board BEFORE doing anything to my computer. So my problem is below:
I was updating the drivers on my m17x and I updated the driver for the nVidia ethernet connection. Well my wireless connection was acting buggy after installing and after a reboot, completely didn't work at all.
What I did after that was to delete the broadcom driver in device manager and let windows reinstall the driver. After that I updated the driver using the dell website, something that almost anybody would do. Usually that works, but not this time.
Now my wireless adapter is in a perpetual disabled status. No matter how many times I try to enable the device under network connections is just doesn't enable. What I did notice before during and after the driver uninstall/install was that there was an entry in device manager under network adapters that was deleted and never reappeared when reinstalling the driver, something along the lines of "half minicard adapter".
Barring a complete reformat of the hard drive (which would really suck because I started using the computer for work and have a lot of programs that I would need and wouldn't be able to get anymore), what are my options? Does anyone have any suggestions?
