    Hi everybody,

I have an M17x R1 which is constantly crashing to blue screen of death with error code STOP 0x0000000A IRQL not_less_or_equal. I've googled it but the fault descriptions are very vague. I love this machine and desperately want to enjoy it.

I have replaced everything except the motherboard since I bought it. Re-installed windows yesterday and now the wireless card doesnt work as I cant find the correct driver for it. Also i'm unable to install service pack 1 for some reason.

Anyway, the BSOD issue is my main concern, I want to get stuck into farcry 3 but cant even reach the first save point without crashing.

    Specs are:-
    CPU - Intel core quad extreme QX9300 @ 2.53ghz
GPU - 2x Geforce GTX 280m in SLI configuration.
    RAM - 8gb DDR3.
HDD - 240gb solid state drive.
    O/S - Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

    I would welcome any suggestions.

    Many thanks, Toby.

Right, you can try using throttlestop to reduce the CPU clocks, also try running your graphics out of SLI mode.

If you still have issues try one stick of ram (if it happens with one stick, try the other stick).

If it still happens then it could be a motherboard fault.

I tried all those things and it seems that switching off SLI makes things more stable. It's only been an hour but no issues yet. If it is the SLI setting that's causing this i'll be very annoyed because that will have a serious impact on the quality of my gaming. Thanks for taking the time to help. I'll let you know how it goes after a few hours.

It's still no good. I did play Farcry 3 for about 45 minutes this morning but more bsod's. I'm convinced this is a driver issue. I have managed to install the very latest Nvidia GPU driver 310.90 and its a little better but still not good. Does anybody have a list of the very best drivers for this system as most of the drivers were installed by windows after the clean install and they're clearly not the best ones.
