    Hello everyone.

I have been searching and getting conflicting information regarding the gap size between the 9400 (northbridge) and ram on the 260M.

Some people say the gap between the 9400 is 1mm others say 1.5mm
Also, some are saying the gap between the 260M/280M ram chips are 2mm others say 1mm

SO.... I am hoping that someone who has done the mod can tell me what dimension are ACTUALLY there so that I can buy the correct thickness pad or copper plate (for the 9400/NB).

    TIA

Well, in preparation for someones answer I just purchased a "copper sample pack" that has 5 sheets that range from ~.5mm to 1.5mm so I guess I will have to see which fits best.

Still hoping for an answer from someone regarding the dimensions they found out (especially for the thermal pads on the 260M/280M gpu ram)

the 9400M uses paste, the ram on the cards are 1.0MM

the PM55 in the R2 uses .5MM gap pads.

If you're going through all that trouble however, I would suggest taking a look at the performance mod and getting some .5mm for the ram instead at least. Changing the pads alone won't change anything.

Are you sure the 9400M/NB is paste?
I could have sworn the last time I took it apart there was a thermal pad that bridged the gap.

Well, the copper pack I ordered does have the 0.5mm thickness in a 4"x4" area so I can cut it down to size as necessary depending on what I find.

the pad for the moffsets are 1.0mm in size, the NV57 chipset (ie the 9400M) is paste.
