So I've recently been getting a crash like once every 2 days. The crash is like a gray screen with a one-inch black bar at the bottom of the screen. I am on the 285.38 beta but this problem happened even on the 280.26 drivers i still get this issue once in a while. What does this mean!!!!??

It could mean any number of things. Usually you'll get a blue screen or a hard shutdown. I don't know what a gray screen means. Get a program called 'WhoCrashed'. Use it to analyze your crash dumps if possible.

it says no valid crash dumps were found on thsi computer. I would be browsing the web and all of a sudden a gray screen and a black bar on the bottom would appear.

Install 197.84 Drivers, or disable PCIe gen2 in BIOS.

PS: Please, to an administrator, make a sticky about this issue, those are the only two ways to "fix" it, but not all the people know it. And is a big issue not solved on R1.

i had issues similar to this on my r1, random crashes and freezes. plus a lot of other small issues. they replaced just about EVERYTHING in my laptop. now they are replacing the laptop :). i hope this new model works. i had the q9000 as well, at 2.4 ghz and a single 260m. the processor is the only thing they didnt replace. still think its a gpu or hard drive problem. both of which were rplaced at least once.
