    Hello All,

I upgraded to windows 8 to give it a shot (done on a VHD) and in general i actually like it and things are working. I encountered some crashing issues but they were related to a known bug that windows update fixed so now I am sitting pretty with everything except my microphone.

Basically i was trying to use ventrilo and I ran the tests to hear my own recorded voice. I at first couldnt hear anything except static. I tweaked the output device a few times tried some alternate configurations and in the end i was able to hear a very small amount of my voice beneath all the other noise. Basically the mic is not usable given the amount of other noise.

Next I went to skype and tried calling a friend. They couldn't even hear any static let alone my voice.

I think some of this may be related to driver issues. I never installed a separate driver for my microphone when upgrading to windows 8 and I was wondering if anyone found a driver that is working alright? I went to the youcam website and checked dell.com and I havent found anything yet.

    Cheers.

That's pretty weird. Did you check Ventrilo compatibility with Windows 8? and the driver manufacturer website also? Unfortunately the m17x R1 is not supported on Windows 8 so probably no drivers will be released for it from us. This might also be subject to change but by now this is the official word.

Could be the drivers then . You will need to check with the manufacturer of the part in that case.
