Long story short, I have three 27" external monitors. I want to do a triple-screen setup off of my M17x R2 with dual Radeon HD 6990M. This is the current, non-working configuration I've been trying. For those not familiar with Eyefinity, in order to set up a third monitor, one monitor MUST be connected with an ACTIVE DisplayPort adapter.

Display One: DisplayPort to DVI ACTIVE Adapter>DVI to HDMI Cable>HDMI in on the Monitor

Display Two: HDMI Cable>HDMI in on the Monitor

Display Three: VGA Cable>VGA in on the Monitor

The Built-In display is disabled in Catalyst Control Center.

I have tried three active adapters in the Display One configuration, so faulty hardware is not the issue. The monitor simply will not pick up the signal from the M17x. Before anyone jumps to the conclusion that the DisplayPort doesn't work because of the 6990M upgrade, the monitor works perfectly with a normal passive DisplayPort to HDMI Cable connected to the monitor. In Catalyst Control Center, all three external displays appear with the passive cable in place (it's pointless however because the third monitor can't be enabled without the active adapter). However, as soon as I try to connect it with the DisplayPort Adapter method, no third monitor is shown. There must be someone out there with expertise regarding this issue. I'm pretty much at my wit's end regarding this issue so any help is GREATLY appreciated :D

Gotta admit, this is intense sounding. Though I have to ask, what'd you plan to do when the 240w PSU drops the load and you BSOD due to power usage? :p
