I installed my Clevo 8970M into my M17x R2 tonight, and it is working with native fan control, but brightness is broken, stuck to max brightness. adjusting slider does nothing. any fix? Running windows 7

    Single 8970M bench with a 940XM

Did you try other drivers just to check?

You know, I went ahead and tried the past several re-live drivers, they all stuck my brightness at maximum. So i tried the final catalyst 2015 driver before they changed to crimson, and brightness works. Will do some investigating....

I remember this on my R2 when upgrading to windows 8. You need to change registry keys. Unfortunately I cannot remember which ones. I will try to hunt down .

Found it. Try this might work.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SYSTEM> ControlSet001> Control> Class> {4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}> 0000> KMD_EnableBrightnessInterface2 to 0

    Reboot!
