I cannot get the audio output for my HDMI to work on my tv. I plug in the HDMI cable to the tv and the m17x recognizes it and i can use my tv as the pc display and what not, but the audio will not come out of the tv's speakers. When i looked up the sound options in the control panel i noticed that the HDMI audio device is not even listed. only "Speakers/Headphones (IDT Audio)" and "Independent RTC Headphones" show up.

I am running ATI Catalyst 11.1 (latest CAP profiles for 11.1) (Whenever i try to install 11.2 crossfire refuses to work....this computer is a pain in the neck)

Does anyone know how to fix the audio issue? I have tried reinstalling the graphics drivers and the audio drivers. is there some patch or something that i have not installed? or some weird setting i have to set?

    Thanks!

    -Matt

Try rebooting with the cable plugged in, I get this issue from time to time.

I second the motion. Reboot with the cable plugged in. You should see the POST screen and everything on your external. The sound should be working normally after that too.
