    Hi all,

I am new to this forum.

I have just purchased a new M17x R2. Was really excited then I tried to run a game using crossfire and guess what a flicking blue line across the screen

I have rang dell and they reinstalled the drivers and got my to take apart my laptop to reseat the the blue crossfire cable

No difference. They told me to turn Crossfire off and just use it normally.

I was not happy with this so i have an engineer coming out to look at the laptop.

I have Dual ATI Mobility RadeonHD4870 graphic cards.

What I want to know is there another way to get my laptop working. Has anyone got a theirs working with both HD4870 cards.

    Helpppppppppppp

You shouldd install the Dell ATI Beta driver, there is more info reguarding this on this thread. You only need to install the BETA driver, it should fix the flickering. You do not need to install the Vbios, that is only for the 5870 cards, so ignore that. It is recommended to install the latest BIOS version first, currently, its A07 for the m17x

DL it and let us know how it goes

The dell rep installed the Beta driver remotely, there was no change.

Well, you could rule out a faulty driver install by downloading driversweeper, uninstalling Catalyst through ATI Catalyst install manager, then restart in safe mode and run driver sweeper to make sure you erase everything ATI related... Then restart normal windows and install those Beta drivers yourself.

Completed the above, but when trying to run 3D Mark Vantage, I still get lots of blue lines and screen.

I can't believe i waited 3 weeks for this laptop and to be told by Dell to just run on one Graphix Card.
