Hi, i've recently Flashed the drive to A201 because it said it fixes disc load/eject bug, but now the drive has gone crazy it wont even accept any disk, just starts ejecting for 10 seconds.
Is there any way to get original A102 frimware back on the unit, because the tool doesnt have any option to backup the original firmware.
Newer firmware was retrieved from here: Driver Details | Dell US

That link is for a dvdrw from the following series of alienware notebooks
Alienware M18XR2/M17XR3/M17XR4/M18X
As you can see it is not compatible with the m17xr2 Blu Ray player. You probably have fruched the drive with an incorrect fw on it and it's going crazy as a result. Solution?
Get a new drive as it's probably butchered now. -
I don't have the blu ray drive, i have exactly that same GA31N DVD drive, and its still recognized in windows, so i know i can backflash it. i just need a full backup image.

The only one we have available for the m17x R2 is this one. If that one does not match your product then do not install it. Updating the wrong firmware on any component may cause damage to it.
