Graphics card stopped working for some unknown reason. Bought one off eBay exactly the same and replaced it. Since then the laptop will not switch off. It goes all the way to black screen and then it is stuck there. I thought may be drivers were the issue so I restored from an old backup of Windows 7 but it is the same issue.

Also when screen goes off after 15 minutes for power saving (CPU/power/hard disk is still on), it doesnt wake up and have to hard restarted by keeping pressed the off button.

I am using Windows 7 Professional

    Any tips please?
    Thanks in advance.

Might be worth trying to flash the vBIOS. Are you running a single 5870 or Crossfire?

So the card itself is working fine but if it goes to sleep in 1 way or another it will not wake up, correct?

What driver do you currently have installed? I find the last version of Catalyst (15.7.1) is generally stable. Crimson Beta causes a whole load of issues for me.

Another thing to try would be disabling ULPS. You can do this easily by going into regedit and searching for "EnableUlps" and changing the 1 to a 0 (don't change the NA value though).

If that does not work I have attached the vBIOS from my card. You can find lots of guides on how to flash that on the forum.

EDIT: Best to just download the vBIOS from Dell support.

    Thanks this fixed the issue.

I've downloaded your file as well and have saved it. In case Dell files brings any issue in the future, I'll try this one.

Thanks a lot gents. Much appreciate you your time and help :)
