How many of you guys are getting some play on your palmrest, specifically the lower left corner of the palmrest?

When I push down, it depresses a few mm's and makes a squeak noise. Is this a common problem?

Why are you pushign down on the corner of the palm rest? Yeah it's got plastic latches that go inside the chasis and they have a tiny bit of play. It's normal.

I was actually lifting it by the corner with one hand. And I just happened to notice there was some play on the lower left palmrest. Just curious if it was normal.

    I have the same problem.

to joker: because I rested my elbow on it. and, normal or not, I don't find it acceptable.

honestly, I'd be a lot more pleased if the palmrest (including speaker grills) and touchpanel were made out of metal too.

Well we can't have everything we want. I'd rather the entire laptop was a single metal piece as well but apparently it wasn't done for whatever reason.
