    Hello guys,

    I got a small question/problem

    I bought a m17xr2 a few days ago from a friend, only 10 hours used :)
    Specs are :
    940xm
    8gb ram
    5870cf
    512 ssd raid 0 (2*256)
    rgbled 1200p

    My problem :
before the format I had a windows performance index of 7.2, after format and install of ALL the drivers from the other topic (in the right install order) my performance index is only 5.6

    cpu : 5.6
    ram : 7.1
    video : 6.7
    video for games : 6.7
    hard disk : 7.8

Before the format my hd was 7.9, my video was 7.2 if i'm not mistaken, and the CPU was a lot higher (atleast 7.2)

Does anyone have any idea why my performance index decreased on almost all the components ??

Any idea's or advise is welcome
Thanks a lot for your time

Don't put too much faith in the windows index. it's kind of stupid.

ok i believe that, but isnt it strange that its so much lower then before ?

What vantage or 3d mark program should i try so i can compare my result to someone else's R2 ? ( and what would be a good score for my specs)?

    That....is a bit low...

You may wanna consider overclocking it a bit.

ok but, is it low in the sense that there is something wrong ?
i had windows performance index 7.2 before and now 5.6
i think some driver isnt good or a hardware fault :x

anyway it worked great before i did the format

    any idea?

The benchmarking thread is fir overclocked. Your scores are probably not going to be thaya high. Keep that in mind.

That's a very low score! With my laptop in my sig (without any overclocks at all) I get around 15,200 total Vantage score with about a 15,100 score for just the Graphics. I also have a less powerful processor so you should get at least that. Make sure that stealth mode is not enabled (it's the top right touch sensitive button above the End key).

FYI- I'm running the AMD Catalyst 11.6 drivers (not the Dell ones).

    Nice laptop by the way!

man you saved my life !!!
laptop was in stealth mode, strange cause i haven't used that before (didnt even know it existed)

I searched for 2 days to find the problem and then its some stupid thing like stealth mode on :s :p

    Btw. one dumb question :
my windows perf index for my SSD was 7.9 and 7.8 is there any reason this dropped 0.1 ( i know this is peanuts but always nice to ask experts )

    Thanks for the efforts
    Thomas

No problem! As a form of payment for my help, feel free to give me one of your SSD's ha ha :)

As for the SSD Index score dropping.....don't worry about it. Personally I could care less for it, but if you really want it to be 7.9, there are many SSD "optimizing" threads in this forum and the interwebs. They may help. I've also noticed that sometimes my ram will be 7.5 and then the next time that the WEI score is updated it will be 7.4....don't know how or why but it does it sometimes. That's why I would not worry about it.

    ok thanks for the advise.
    New problem:
after Service pack 1 install, my laptop had to reboot and suddenly I have 1 PIXEL that stays RED !

I read some stuff on google referring to a stuck pixel instead of dead pixel.

I tried some solutions google suggested like that youtube pixel fix flashing movie and whiping the screen with a cloth.

Does anyone know what to do ?
I got 2 years warranty and i only have this laptop 5 days.... can i get this screen replaced for this 1 stuck pixel ???

(When i connect to an external screen with hdmi there is no red pixel on the external monitor, so i'm sure it's not a gpu problem but RGB LED screen problem)
