    Howdy everyone,
Long time reader and first time poster! My R2 power button does not light up nor my Alienware head logo and my laptop came this way. My Alienware Head logo looks exactly like the one on the Orion laptop backpack, the eyes does not light up. I know the R1 power button lights up and the head logo lights up as well. Is this normal?

BTW I just wanna thanks to Joker and everyone on the Alienware forum for posting helpful info. on the M17x r2. It was this laptop or G73 jh, I am glad I picked the M17xr2! :D

That happens the odd time on my machine - but they eventually come on as soon as my desktop loads up. Try changing the light configuration on Command Centre. If they are not lighting up then its possible there maybe a fault. Also try changing your power configurations while your at it.

You can fix this right up by restarting. If still no lights then shutdown the system. Remove the battery. Hold the Alien power on button for 30 secs or more. Then put the battery back in plug in AC power adapter and power up the machine again. The lights should be back up. Also double check you are using the latest CC and OSD drivers firmware.

    Cheers. :)

Try all of the above methods. If that doesn't work the strip that connects your touch strip/power button to the mother board may have a bad line in the ribbon cable. My ribbon cable died and thats the same issue I have since I'm acutally using the touch pad ribbon ( I use and external mouse) for the power button till I can get home and get warranty support.
