Hello guys another noob with a noob question here..

I was thinking of upgrading my Alienware M17x graphics slots (its SLI 285GTX x2)

and I wanna maybe go to 480 so i can use Direct X 11 and ect.

BTW If i do upgrade will my card support 1080p? (unlike my GTX 285Ms)

and Is it possible to upgrade both of them and have sli enabled? (i am talking GTX 480M and over)

I think my graphics slot is MxM (i mean it has to be its an M17x) and Please guys if this is possible post a guide on where to buy the mobile cards and how to install them on your laptop(possibly a video)

    THANKS

Hey Ahmed, Yes you can upgrade probably not to a 480m, But the 6970's have been shown to work in the R2 and Ichime I think is trying to get some Nvidia cards to work. There is a guide if you are interested, but it will not be supported through Dell as they do not offer any cards other than dual 5870's which are slightly better than the dual 285's you currently have.

Your screen is one with lower resolution.

Wuxga can do 1900 x 1200 which is more than 1080.

You probably have a 1440x900 screen. It isn't the 285m's holding you back.
