I have an alienware m17x. Bought it June 2011. I have had no trouble until now though. I did something stupid and tried to clean up the registry... This led to a restart and blue screen on start up. I decided to use a respawn disc and thankfully I got most my data and re-installed the OS. 5 days after that I came home to find that the screen had not turned off when I was afk, it had been set to dim (lowest value) for about 3 hours. Though to be honest I use this comp so much I do not see that being a problem. I noticed that the screen was kinda... this is hard to explain as I thought it was the word jitter or flicker but when I look up vids on youtube it is not anything like that. It just seems like some parts of the screen start to shake a lil, no black areas or anything just a noticeable movement would be the best way to describe it. I have no idea what has cause it. I can play borderlands 2 and experience no FPS lag. It comes and goes at odd times. I can spend hours without it being a problem and then it comes back.
    So far I have:

Removed the plug and started up on battery
Removed battery, started up on AC only
Removed battery, held down power button for 30 sec to remove residual charge and clear ram
Looked at programs installed on that day (Adobe Flash 11) uninstalled in safe mode
Got AMD/ATI catalyst and updated drivers
Went to Device Manager and looked through everything there and updated (using windows) all the drivers.
Tried hooking laptop up to TV using HDMI cable, shake seen on laptop is not shown on the tv

I just don't know what it is, I am so worried the past few days as I just don't know how much money this will cost me to fix as i dont even know whats wrong! :(

FYI Laptop was never moved at any stage.. except for sliding back and forth to position etc.
