Everything was working great up until yesterday when all of a sudden the computer will not boot pass the windows start up screen and then BSOD. Restarted it over a dozen times didn't make any difference. Now I am able to go into safe mode to uninstalled the video driver(11.4) to allow me back into normal windows. But as soon as I installed any video driver (Dell's stock, 11.2, 11.4) that is when I get locked out from passing the windows start up screen. This really baffles me as I think I have done everything I could below and nothing made sense over some stupid video drivers. Please guys any suggestions would be appreciated.

    M17x R2: i7 740qm, CF 5870, 1920x1200 RGBLED, 256gb SSD, BIOS A09

*Ran Dell's system diagnostic test everything passed
*Uninstalled and installed every driver imaginable from Dell and AMD etc.
    *Flashed vbios to latest version
*Flashed bios from A08 to A09
*System restored twice back to clean state and reinstalled every driver and software in order.
*Pulled apart and put back together RAM, SSD, Both video cards

BSOD memory dump screen states "Attempt to reset the display driver and recover timeout failed."

Again, I am able to get back to normal windows with no video driver installed.

Is there not anyone that knows? :( Anyways I got Dell replacing both of my cards so hopefully it solve whatever problems I'm having. I'm just hoping that they don't destroy my laptop tearing it apart. I know I can do it in 5 mins without leaving a single scratch so maybe Dell will allow me to do it instead.

If you are indeed using standard VGA drivers (check in Device Manager under Display Adapters), then go to Programs and Setting (Control Panel) and uninstall all AMD/ATI programs. Next, run Driver Sweeper to remove all ATI/AMD files and folders. Reboot when prompted. Last, but not least, run CCleaner's registry tool and repair all problems found. This will rid you system of folders, files and registry entries related to AMD.

After completing the above steps, try installing the full Catalyst package.

If this does not correct your issues, I think you have a video hardware failure of some sort.

Thanks for the suggestion. I now believe that it is one of my cards that is faulty because it works by taking that card out. I'm just worry by them so called expert destroying my laptop when doing a replacement.

SUADE8880, what direction did you end up going on this?

Anyone looking on this thread for driver help should check out this other thread:

Be sure to use Driver Sweeper and CCleaner to get rid of the old stuff before updating AMD drivers. This step is crucial to success.
