    hey guys, i'm trying to get replacement parts for the plastic cover on top of the keyboard (the one with the alienhead), so far the only result i came out with is this NEW GENUINE ALIENWARE M17X R2 R3 KEYBOARD MEDIA TRIM COVER GDKVM 0GDKVM | eBay

    does the r3's variant even work on r2? otherwise where can i get this part? my warranty is long gone and therefore i have no choice but to buy the parts by myself

    I don't believe they are compatible at all as they are completely different dimensions and the r3 has different buttons. :(
