I have had my M17x R2 for about 2 years now and my battery only last maximum 1h30 just after a fresh windows 7 installation. Is that normal or is my battery having issues?

    Thanks

So an hour and 30 minutes on the R2 I would say is probably normal. Depending on what you are doing with it. Obviously if you are gaming I'd expect that the battery life would be even less then that.

2 years is also about the time that you will see a lot of battery life start to degrade (based on various factors). I honestly never rarely use my R2 on battery life, so only commenting on what I've seen posted and or experienced in the past.

Others may disagree, but I think an hour and a half on an R2 is right about where it should be.

It also depends on your hardware! The R2 was not designed to last long on the battery.
XM cpu's and a 680m already consume way more the battery can deliver.

    Type real fast.

(ps: you're not having battery issues. Mine lasts about the same)

Mine lasts about (if not slightly less) than an hour and a half. You can reduce screen brightness and underclock using ThrottleStop, but, even then, it's not going to increase to a significant enough degree that it'd be considered reasonable.

If you think that there is an issue with your individual hardware, you could use a program (e.g. AIDA64) to check the wear level/remaining capacity of your battery to see if a replacement would help.
