Is there any way to change the fanspeeds in this thing?

I would like a way to change the fan speeds depending on a non-linear ramp, or something similar.

At the moment the fans go: 33% - oh snap load! 100%!!!!!!!!

Im sure it would be nicer if it ramped up gradually.

It's coded into the system bios. If you can find a Phoenix bios editor that can decompile/recompile it then you may be in luck.

I have helped Mumak, the creator of HWiNFO32 to do exactly that. We did it to be able to monitor fan speeds, not to control them. (it by the way works in latest betas)
He is not really into putting anything active into HWiNFO but the knowledge is there..

Theoretically it should be possible to change the fan speeds on M17x-R2, however I assume it's possible to set 3 levels only: off, medium, full speed.
To change it to a custom speed would require to modify the IT8512 Embedded Controller firmware. Maybe it has a host interface to access the PWM, but I haven't found that yet...
