As the title states I recently upgraded my m17x r2 gpu as my old graphics cards went dead. I went to a gtx 660m and now the fans do not spin up. I did see a couple similar issues http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/m17x-r2-7970m-upgrade-fan-problem.710640/ , but most said to just use hwinfo. Most also had these issues with amd/ati cards. Just wanted to see if this is something someone else has went through and was able to successfully fix before.

Its because its a Dell GPU, none of them have native fan control. You need to use HWINFO to control the fan speed.
