So I recently called alienware and talked to a rep, to ask about my broken R2. The charge problem with my laptop continues, as does the constant rebooting, which I can't control.

He said that my alienware needs to be sent in for repair, and that I needed to extend my warranty for it first. ($350+) So, as the rep said; I purchased the warranty extension. The only problem is I need my R2 replaced AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, seriously. I hadn't thought about it at first, but a couple minutes after buying the warranty I realized I won't be able to use it during the time frame I have.

I have to go to France for schooling this year, and my laptop will be needed without a doubt. I have to learn a different language, and be able to communicate with my family/friends over the only way possible, the internet. And without my laptop, that won't work. I'm screwed If I don't get my replacement fast enough. Can anyone help or give me some advice as to what to do about this situation? Thanks.

first off what warranty did you buy? The basic care or the complete care?

If I were you I would talk to tech support and explain your situation to them and that you need it fixed ASAP.

[198] days remaining on your XPS Technical Support warranty. See the Warranty Tab for details

I have those. The laptop is in serious need of fast replacement, but I have school tomorrow and I can't call anyone right now.

PM the Alienware reps here in the forum. They are far more helpful with service and support than calling Dell. Here is one that helped me with my warranty issues: http://forum.notebookreview.com/member.php?u=508900. There are at least 8 reps here in the forum so get in touch with any one of them.

Ps: I know you need/want to get this resolved before you head over seas, but remember you can also transfer your warranty from the US (or whatever country you're in) to France and your notebook will still be covered.
