I have the above mentioned model from Alienware and just recently the power jack came loose. The system won't power on entirely. Before this the charging pin had to held in place for it to work and the slightest movement would trip the laptop to shut down. I recently cleaned out my laptop for dust and went till not more than the graphics card I guess. Could that have triggered the issue? Need help

Your power jack have to be replace, not a big deal, don't replace the mobo for that ... You can find one on ebay for 10$, you might have finish him while cleaning, your battery is low or empty and the laptop hasn't got enought juice to power on. Try to move a bit the power jack if you are in hury but replace it as soon as possible.

If your battery is charging as usual then it points out to be an issue with the Power Jack.
As toto29620 stated. Nothing to expensive and pretty accessible.

I don't have a battery installed. Any other way to check if it's getting the power besides the battery sign?

It should boot ... but if it's very tricky to get to the "good spot" you will not keep it in place longer enought to make it boot ... It should boot even whit an random dell psu i think, so that shold not be a sgnal pin problem from your psu. If you know how to use a soldering iron replace the power jack, nothing too expensive, you just have to wait for the replacement part.
