Hi,
I know that this question had been ask a lot of times, but by looking at many thread I'm not sure about the real and final answer. I found that I can use this screen LP171WU5 TL A4 with this cable HP693... Is it true?
THE QUESTION: Does these two items will work right of the box? Do I need something more? Does the version of actual screen matters? Does the connectors on each M17x R2 are the same or it depends on the display type?
My screen is making buzzing sounds when the display refresh (like when the screen go from white to black) so I want to replace it with a better screen. Sure it's an old laptop but it's my only one and it fit me pretty well for the school.
Anyway thanks!

They should work.

A guy from this thread got that display to work using that cable, I don't see any reason it wouldn't work for you. The RGB LED display is wonderful, a great upgrade. If you aren't sure about doing this though you could always look for an entire lid assembly for sale with the display still installed. -
Hi, I already looked at a entire assembly. Turns out there is no more on my side of the ocean (there is some in Europe). I'm looking to build it myself but I would have love to hear from people who've actually done it! Thanks
