As of lately iv'e been playing Witcher 2 at around 35-50 FPS then with out warning the whole computer shuts down. Every thing just went off no errors or warnings. I did notice that the bottom of the computer is boiling hot..I used a can of air to blow the dust off the vents but it seems like nothing is coming out from the back of the vents. There's a mesh type grill that is covering the rear how do I ensure that the dust gets blown out. Anyone knows if there's a guide with pictures for me to see how to open this computer and clean the vents properly. There's just so much dust under the vents right now. The fan seems to be working good and it's getting a little louder now. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Prop it up on a few books for more ventilation. I heard from other Alienware users that reduces temperatures up to 10 degrees.

Open her up, there is probaly a thick layer of dust stuck at the heatsink. Couple of screws, look on youtube for tear down vids.

I opened up mine yesterday. I use to do it almost once per month. Even if you blow it up from the vents, dust will accumulate on the fins clogging them.

In half hour you should be able to open it, clean it and close it.

The hardest part is trying to pry open the indicator board imo. I never managed to open that part and I didn't want to risk breaking my laptop so I vacuumed the vents.

The first times when you open it, it will be pretty hard to pry it, if you can't do it from the right side start from the left side.
MAKE SURE THE SCREEN IS OPENED AT MAX! and watch the ribbon, pull slowly.

I learned my lesson with the dust accumulation. It's not that hard to open it up and clean it. Like the others said there are disassembly videos on utube :)
