I'm gathering some information to mod the front 'glass' bezel to remove the clear part so I end up with a black bezel to get rid of the annoying reflections. By lasercutting the original bezel I would still preserve the original oem look. But I would only be able to cut it if is made from plexi or acrylic glass.

So does anyone ( Alienware-L_Porras perhaps :) ? ) what kind of material the bezel is made from?.

I think it's glued onto the black part so removing it would leave residue I think and look very bad, also the middle portion of the screen would be jutting out and have sharp edges. Also not to mention how would the middle portion be supported.

And that's why I want to mod the bezel instead of just removing it ;).

To be a bit more clear this is the result I want to achieve:

But the example above here is a M18x with a custom made black bezel.

So my idea is to use the original bezel (or a replacement one) and cut the clear part away:

That way I can keep the oem look with the alienware logo.

As far as I am informed, the "glass" bezel is actually made from plastic, not glass or plexiglass.

That would be great since a lasercutter can cut through plastic :).

Got it, I thought you meant cut out the black part and leave the glossy on the screen
