The 3D version was just taken down off the Australian AW site. Any speculations?

Mmm, interesting the nVidia card is there but the screen isn't. Although the AU Alienware site is a bit crappy - see "short on detail." You might find that if you select the 460 card you automatically get the 3D screen. A couple of other examples of this is that we are unable to upgrade to the 6300 wireless card, but it appears we get that by default. Also, there is no lisiting in of the AlienFX but apparently we get that also.

Having said the above I would definitely confirm that you can get your desired spec's via phone or chat. Of course, as per AU consumer laws, if they promise you something via phone or chat and you don't get it you are entitled to send it back and have your money refunded.

460M is gone from the M15x config page in the USA.
