    Hello fellow NBR people!

I'm having a really really big problem with my m17xr3 right now, first, my 6990m died a year ago so left my laptop then reverted back to my old desktop. Then a week ago, i found a decent 7970m on sale at my country. I got it and had it installed. I then bought a new SSD, since my notebook is back up and alive again. Then the nightmare started when I clean install Windows 8.1 on my new SSD. First, the installation went well and I was able to load and install everything (I had no idea if the CCC 14.6 installed properly though, since I haven't tried any games on it yet) I had eveerything installed, from drivers to applications skipping restart dialogs as I want to make my restart all at once after that needs to be installed is installed. Then after finishing, I decided to restart.. the real nightmare began! I was stuck in an endless bootloop. It would reach to the login screen then the screen will flicker then restart, then a few seconds later a "Diagnosing windows.." message appears and says that my computer did not start properly. It gives me options to refresh, turn off and advance options. I tried every possible combination but can't get through or out of the bootloop. I gave up tried re-installing a different OS - Win 8 Pro.. The installation was successful until I reach the time when I was installing the AMD driver, I was using the beta driver 14.6 from the AMD site, btw. During the installion of the display driver the display when black and it almost never turned on (I pressed the power button after 5 mins of black screen) then the screen turned white. I pressed the power button again and it took me to the lockscreen, after logging in, everything seemed fine. I restarted and the bootloop welcomed me again! I was pissed and formatted my drive and is now OS-less :(

Please help me, give me a step by step solution on installing Windows 8.1 on my SSD. Please! From start to finish, each driver and/or install, step by step. Thanks in advance!

BTW, i already read a few threads a while a go in search for a solution but these thread lead me nowhere. :((

I believe you need to flash an unlocked BIOS (I use unlocked A12) to disable your integrated gpu and you also need modded drivers for your GPU. Correct me if I'm wrong :)
There are tutorials on this site or google it). Can't help you more than this...

Yes i've seen that, but isn't flashing the bios a no-stepping-back shot? I mean, what if is the stock A08 wouldn't be able to run fine on Win8.1 fine? Thanks btw!

Others out there with R3+7970m+Win8.1? Can I hear your words? A little help here, hehehe. TIA!

a very very noob question, is flashing the bios just like installing a driver? like an exe file? so i'll have to install another OS, flash the bios? then turn off the igpu, then continue to install the other drivers? right?

another question, where should i put my ssd? in the middle slot or on the side? i put it on the side as i thought the sata3 was on slot0 (which was the one on the side, right?)

    M17x R3 BIOS A12 - unlocked & 'SATA fix' - Downloads - Tech|Inferno Forums
There is a download button the right side.
If it's an exe you can do it from Win but maybe you can put it on a bootable USB stick? You might have to Google for that one.
I did it through windows, executing the file as an admin.

Your SSD should be in the middle bay if you have a SATA3 and want to have SATA3 speeds if I am correct.

You are correct about the steps: flash BIOS, disable iGPU in the BIOS, install OS, install the drivers.

Correct me if I'm wrong :s
Kinda noobish myself when it comes to AW.
