    Hi,

I have a WD 2tb mybook and a usb hub (for mouse, keyboard, headset, printer) plugged in to the two usb 3 ports on my R3.

It has problems booting up with them plugged in randomly. If I remove the hdd cable, it boots fine. So I usually power it on with the mains switched off (so external hdd is off ) and once it starts loading windows, i turn power on and it works fine. But today, when I did that, it got stuck again.

I was wondering if anyone else as had this issue and if there are any fixes?

    Regards,
    Carthik

Go into the BIOS setup and make sure that the USB devices are not first in the boot order. Set your DVD/BD drive to first, Internal HDD to second, and USB to third.

I've had the same issue before. Make sure your BIOS is set up to boot from the Hard Drive first. When mine was doing it it was because the BIOS was set up to boot from USB and it seemed like it just kept searching and would never move on to the next device.

I have the same problem (maybe?) The bios boot settings are all correct. With mine, however it won't post, if my eSata external HDD is plugged in but not turned on. Any ideas?

Boot order was originally Primary HDD, Secondary HDD, DVD and Network. Don't have a USB option in the bios for some reason.

I changed it to DVD, Primary and Secondary HDD, Network but it still doesn't work... Same issue with it stuck at boot, but works if i unplug the usb devices.

Tried everything i could think of... still the same issue.

It doesn't power on as long as these devices are plugged in to the ports (even if the power is turned off on the hdd and the hub).

If I physically unplug them, it starts up fine.

I only have a boot delay with my wife's iPod connected, HDD is set to be the first device on the boot list.
