Hey guys I've been searching this forum for some time now trying to find the fix for these, all I can find is that updating your bios to the newest version can sometimes help. I have and now I'm at A08 as before I was at A06. All other Fn keys work except for the screen brightness, does anyone know of a fix? Thank you!

My screen brightness only works if I am using the integrated GPU. I am running 11.7 with A04. I am interested in finding a fix as well.

I am now at BIOS A08 & is using catalyst 11.7 drivers from AMD,perhaps you can try it? Currently everything from sleep, restart, brightness & mouse corruption issues have been resolved.previously was using Dell's driver & i did a clean AMD driver install while keeping the original IGP driver(intel HD3000).

    ^^ Same here. A08 and Cat 11.7 (WHLQ)(8.872.0). Fn/F4-F5 work fine.

I just updated to BIOS A08 and catalyst 11.7 and the Fn/F4 -F5 Brightness keys don't work. IT pops up the OSD boxes that say dimmer and brighter but they don't do anything. Weird. Any other ideas out there for this?

Fascinating, Both my R3 laptops brightness and all other function keys work. Using A08 on one and A04 on the other. Latest Dell ATI drivers (not from AMD's site). There must be some common cause that is affecting so may people but not others.

    Cheers,

To OP, do they not even work after a system restart? If your issue happens with me, switching to the IGO and back, or just restarting fixes it. Not saying that's the best solution, but wanting to know how deep your problem goes.

Mine are the exact same problem. No restarting doesn't fix it and switching graphic cards doesn't either.

I just got my R3 yesterday, it's doing the same thing.. I'll try and update the bios\drivers tonight and see if that helps. Mine's running 6970M and 900p screen - Not sure if that matters..

I've got the same card and screen in mine. Wonder if that has anything to do with it?

UPDATE: I updated the drivers for the bios (A06 -> A08) and the latest ati 6970 drivers from the dell website and the issue is fixed. Everything seems to be working fine now.
