I's like to upgrade my screen to the full HD screen. I've found a replacement screen I'd like to use, but I'm pretty sure it's just the screen without the glass bonded to it. So I have a few questions:

1.) I've searched through the threads but couldn't find anything about re bonding the glass. Is there a way to do this? I don't want to tear my system down and not be able to re bond the glass.

2.) Also, which screen would everyone suggest?

Any suggestions or links would be great.

    Thanks!

im in the same boat you are atm, and I wouldn't recommend trying to swap out just the panel. The LCD panel is taped with double sided tape to the plexi-glass making it very hard to remove without cracking/damaging the glass. :( If there was a company that made spare bezels for the m17x r3 like they do for the m15x it would be worth it just to buy a new bezel, But since nobody sells just the bezels we are kinda out of business for now. :(

Edit: if you still wanna try it, here is a thread from a while back to read though and gain some info [GUIDE] Swapping Stock M17x-R3 LCD w/ 90% NTSC Color Gamut "B+RGLED" LCD

That's not the news I was hoping for. Thanks for the info though.

Bigtony - When I look at the parts it lists:

    LCD/Display Assembly
983RG LCD, 17.3HDF+, WLED, LVDS, LG
    C30PY 17.3 3D panel
    H8D3K 17.3FHD, WLED, LVDS, AUO
    M99C0 17.3HDF+, WLED, LVDS, AUO
    MGNC7 17.3FHD, WLED, LVDS, LGD

Is has it as a full assembly. Do you know if that includes glass/bezel?

If your buying it off ebay, i'd try to contact the seller and see if is the complete assembly or not. It really bothers me that companies try to sell just the LCD panel, when the old one isn't easily removable.

If you do swap the whole assembly, it is pretty easy to do. I did it once, in all it was about an hour of work.
