    M17x R3 - Shuts off suddenly

    Hello all,

    I have the m17x-R3 with AMD 6870 and 4GB RAM, and I have all the latest driver installed for the BIOS and GPU. I almost always plug the AC adapter on and leave the battery out, and when I do that, my laptop sometimes shuts off suddenly without any notice.

    3 times it happened when I was playing warcraft (not WoW), 2 times when playing GTA4, and one time when I was watching a movie. The temperature wasn't that hot, as I have a cooling pad underneath it. Also I didn't move the laptop when it happened so I'm pretty sure it's not because I plugged out the AC adapter accidentally.

    I called Dell twice, each person did an hour diagnosis without any result, and they end up planning to replace my fan and heating fence (or something) two days from now, but I'm pretty sure that won't resolve the issue. The 2 tech guy ran the temp test twice and said it was great without any problem. Anyone has any idea what might cause the problem? Or did anyone experience this problem?
