    Are you able to use the stock ATI drivers?

    I understand the Dell drivers somehow limit the stock drivers. Since I'm close to my yearly format, I thought I could clarify this as part of the preparation work.

    I'm on a M17x R3 with the ATI 6970m.

    Thoughts? ideas?

    Yes you can install AMD mobility drivers (Edit: seems new drivers have both desktop and mobile .. so guess it depends which version you get ...what a mess) over dell drivers. Dell drivers are needed first to install AMD driver for the Intel integrated graphics and also add support for your HMDI audio? , i think.

    So
    • Format (use your recovery discs if you want original set up and make ones regardless if its your first time!)
    • Install dell drivers
    • Then grab the AMD mobility drivers.

    Currently running on AMD 12.3 with no issues. thinking of trying 12.4.

    Can you switch between the integrated graphics card and the ati???? :confused:
