Hi all, I have searched for this but unable to find the answer anywhere. I installed a 2960XM in my M17x R3 last night (previously an 2670qm). The laptop was on the A08 unlocked bios.

Install went fine everything works but in bios I am unable to see any multiplier adjustment options. All other unlocked options are there. I foolishly thought that at this point it would be good to try the stock A12 dell bios to see if the "level 1, 2, 3" overclocking factory options appear but when I flashed this, the laptop won't boot into windows although it will boot to safe mode (win 8.1). Also the factory overclock options aren't available in the A12 bios either.

Is multiplier adjustment of unlocked sandybridge CPUs possible on the M17x R3? If so, which bios do I use? If not possible, is the only way to adjust multipliers through the intel overclocking utility or throttlestop?

    Thanks in advance.
