Hi, last day played C@C and got freeze system. After restart the same, x times repeat it and try it recover.
I tried repast gpu (m8900), but problem still. Now i can't boot with dedicated gpu. Laptop run only with IGP. Ist there any chance fix this card? Is there cheapest way to buy new card i have? ( 6870m or?)
    Thx

Also tried reseating the gpu? The m8900 is basicly a 6970m which unfortunately are prone to failure.

However as a last resort you could try to bake the GPU, a while ago I managed to resurrect a HD7970m from the dead this way (baked it for 7 min on 225c ).

My own hd7970m never had any issue's so you can get lucky and upgrade to a HD7970m if the baking doesn't work but it's bit of a gamble.

I can help you if you like, I think maybe your videocard needs to be rebaked, trying to fix it yourself can even save you some money, and maybe some waiting time, if you have a decently vented convection over and some tin foil and a timer.
Otherwise, someone like me could also test/repair/ or sell you a new videocard, or help you upgrade your laptop. That M17X-R3 is still a great beast of laptop and can run nVidia 780M GTX or nVidia 880M GTX even !

If you are looking for inexpensive, considering how much time has gone by since those cards your looking for were on the market, i recommend the 675M GTX, because you can find it for the best price considering its value comparatively to others, because its a rebranded 580M GTX, whereas the 680M which was really really popular, and still is somewhat, might sell for double. If your looking for a new card, with warranty options, I can also help you from my own store, but I would just as gladly help you test/fix/shop around for something else.

I think th 675m goes for about 175-250 dollar depending on the condition (but I would still not reccomend it and either replace it the currrent firepro or get a 7970m/ 680m). I do have a perfectly working m8900 as a spare so if you still want to use the same the card you could always send me a pm ;)

I tried again. Gpu working , but only few minutes. Then got blank screen. And other strange thing is, gpu fan not spinning or only few rpm. Gpu chip is very hot and rpm are 100-500..
