So I heard that the 120Hz screen is rather good compared to the 60Hz one. Has anyone had experience swapping the screens on a single laptop? Easy, hard? Reason being is that it may be economically beneficial for me to get a 1600x900 screen and upgrade myself. I know that you need a nvidia card. I don't care much for the 3D but its always a bonus.

Real easy, take 2 screws out and you can remove the lid to gain acces to the screen itself.

Price of the sreen itself will be very high compared to the price in the configurator.

Right I see so say I got a M17x R3 with a 460m and the 900p screen, upgrading to the 1080p 120Hz one would be easy?

I've swapped screens on my older laptops before, and frankly speaking the process should be a tiny little bit of a challenge. I had to remove a lotta screws to get to the mobo and unplug some wires before I could take the screen off..

The LCD screen is behind plexi-glass which is almost impossible to replace the LCD itself without getting dust under the screen. You would want to end up removing the plexi-glass and lose the gloss :(.

The panel itself is not glossy but the glass makes it look like it is.
