How do I get 3d out to the monitor? I apologize if this has been asked and answered before, but I am a bit of a noob. All works great (ie playing L4D on the laptop monitor in 3d but as soon as I plug in the HDMI cord to the AW2310 my glasses shut off and neither screen is in 3d. I thought this would do 3d out??

Again, sorry if this has been asked and answered, but maybe I have a setting wrong??

The AW2310 can only work display 3D via the dual link DVI connector. I have the same monitor. Some have been successful at doing this with other 3D monitors via the Mini Display Port using a specific dual link DVI adapter converter, but you have to be careful as to which adapter and which driver you use. I am confident they will chime in soon. LVNeptune, and others have discussed the adapter and the drivers.

I removed some of the info hoping that the people with the actual success will chime in. If not, I will send you what I found. I was more concerned of giving mis-information when they can share which specific cables they used.

Here are some of the links related to using the dvi adapter. There is a link to the one recommended by nVidia in the last thread, but one of the last postings indicates that someone was having problems with that adapter.

I too found this frustrating as Alienware recommends the AW2310 as an external monitor add-on for the M17xR3.

All those links go back to threads I made and pretty current. I haven't had anyone else test newer drivers so it may or may not just be me but yea, you need the Mini-DP-> Dual Link DVI adapter first, apparently NVIDIA sells one now, get that one if it's cheaper.

Well it's the same, but it's officially "supported" so get that, I guess.
