I got myself a swanky Dell 2711 and was hoping to use it in conjunction with my M17x...

I bought an Apple mini display -> Dual DVI out, and well the image is there but blurry as hell...

    Whats wrong?

    Thanks

Have you tried messing with the resolution settings?

I had to have my motherboard replaced due to bad display port. I'm using the powered dual link adapter sold by nvidia and it is working fine now.

This may sound obvious but did you close the lid after you connected? With my Dell U2412 and the laptop lid open the picture is blurry. Close the lid and I'm good to go.

well I've made some progress, if I set the output as a custom resolution of 2560x1440 @ 35Hz the image is fine, if I crank it up to 60hz the image is a mess.

I'm beginning to think the apple dual link adapter doesn't support that res at 60hz, but I've found some other adapters that apparently do...

Would this be the case? Or am I just clutching at straws?

Is the adapter active? (with usb?) Based on what you said about 35hz, seem like it is passive?

I thought with mini displayport, all you need is a mini displayport to full size cable.

Some 10feet/3m one is only 1080p capable because of signal/bandwidth lose w.e..

There are 10ft that say 2560*1440 capable but 6feet/2m is on the safe side.
