Also, the card runs hot even on stock clocks, but its stable- even after 3 or 4 hours of gameplay on max load with 800/1000, shader temps do not exceed a 93 degree max and usually hover around the 91-92 range. Temp sensor #2 stays pretty constant in mid 80's, and GPU temp and sensor #1 are always in 75-77 range. I think the card just runs hot, but I am hesitant to repaste because it voids warranty. What would Dell be able to do if I gave them a call?
Alternatively, is it going to be a problem if I just keep running at these temps indefinitely?
Thanks, -

Hey, I OCed to 750 and 1000 and got BF3 shutdowns.
Any idea what went wrong? Whats a good stable OC? and btw I'm running on an M15x,

Your m15x has what video card? You might be running clocks that are wayy too high for you card.
Im currently running and stress testing 850/1100 on my 6970, so far so good, the card is on factory pre-paste (i consider it quite good) and is a replacement card that i got 5 days ago, i also have it on a basic fan cooler. 7 minutes of occt and im at 75 degrees and idle at 55-60 degrees.
I cleaned my mobo and all guts from all dust and cat hair (2 cats) And so far not to jinx it im running pretty cool. Strongly suggest cleaning your insides on your laptops guys, air flow makes all the difference. Just as it is important in the auto tuning industry it is important in notebook tuning.
