    Hi all,

I recently attempted to install a 7970M in my M17x R3, and it wasn't right for the computer. As such, I have a replacement coming.

Anyway, the issue is, I have put the 6990M back in and systematically tried every single driver one by one. On first boot using the driver, the screen is at full brightness, then it dims and stays there at about 70%

According to the computer, it is at full brightness, but I know differently :(

I genuinely have no idea how to fix this. I have now tried a different bios, several sets of drivers (stock dell, 11.10, 12.1, 12.3) and it's the same with each.

Using standard VGA driver, the brightness is fine, but as soon as I give it ATI drivers, the brightness stays dim.

    Please help :\

    Thanks.
