So for some reason the red lights in the "ALIENWARE" word under the screen don't want to turn off. So if I choose black, it displays red, if I choose blue, it displays purple. Tried a CMOS reset, bios update, downgrade, blind flash. No go so seems dead. Gonna contact Dell and get this bad-boy fixed. I have not tried opening it up yet.

Any suggestions in the mean time?

Sounds like purely a software issue to me. Cuz his other colors change, right? Try turning off AlienFX altogether and then restarting it?

Fixed it :) opened up the display assembly and reconnected the LED cable. Works fine now.
