On my m17x r3 when i unplug the computer while its on the battery works. But, if I unplug it while the computer is off the alienware head light goes off and there is no way i can switch it on unless i plug it back in I tried hitting fn + f2 doesnt do anything. The battery charges fine and works and the charger works I just dont understand why if I hibernate or shutdown the computer and unplug it the battery is no longer detected. How can I get this issue fixed?

    Thanks.

I don't think I fully understand your question. So the battery works and charges normally. The computer runs just fine on the battery while unplugged.

Your concern is that the alien head (power button) turns off if the computer is unplugged while the computer is off. The light doesn't turn on if you plug it back in immediately. You try pressing fn + F2 while the computer is off?

What makes you say that the battery is undetected after hibernation/shutdown?

If the laptop is on and I unplug it, it stays on.

If I press hibernate and unplug it it will no longer switch on when I hit the alienware head unless I plug it back in.

If I unplug it while its on, itll work then I switch it off "while being unplugged" it will stay on if I hit the alienware head then stop detecting the battery after 15-20 mins I have no idea why.
