Just wanted to verify that I'm not going crazy. Did a clean installed of Windows 8 Pro on my M17x R3 with 6970m. Everything is fine with sleep until I install the AMD drivers. So far the two drivers I've tried, 12.11 beta 4 and Leshcat's 12.9, are giving me a blank screen after waking from sleep.

Has anyone experienced this? Going to try 12.10 or even do a upgrade over a working Win 7 install. Any advice would be great.

    Thanks

I upgraded my Windows 7 and am experiencing the same issue. I also upgraded my father in laws HP M6 and it is also having this issue although not every time like my M17x

I read of an user who just installed Windows8Pro and was having several issues after installing the VC driver. He stopped the problems after installing the driver in the Dell's website if you want to give it a try.

Exactly, install dell driver first, then install 12.11. That should fix the issue, did with me.

Well I had to install each driver twice because it crashed on the first attempt, but it worked!! That was my last issue with Windows 8 now I can finally sit back and enjoy haha :)

    Thanks all

BTW guys, Windows 8 isn't officially supported by Dell on the M17xR3. But from what I've read in different forums and after some personal testing, the drivers in the support website seem to do the trick.
